To educate and empower the residents, Green club developed a vision to convert its society, Aashirwad Enclave in patparganj into zero waste society. A Zero waste society whereby every part of the waste to be converted into resource and none to be sent to landfills. For this they conducted awareness workshops for its residents and cleaners to achieve segregation of waste at source. Green club, founded by Sandhya Maheshwari is a bunch of enthusiastic citizens who started with a thought, “why not you” instead of blaming the government and bureaucrat for creating the chaos around us. They believe as a human being, one is not complete unless he/she has touched other’s live by his/her good deeds.
The motive of this initiative is to bring residents of the society under one umbrella for a green cause and make them understand the importance of going green in daily life. They plan to organize various social and environmental activities for all age group such as Tree plantation, society clean-up drives, old household stuff collection drive, Presentations, Workshops and other lots of activities on Going Green. They wish to conserve the natural habitat and strive to improve working conditions of community helpers. They want waste workers to participate in society, free from discrimination. It is high time that they all give back to the environment for a eco friendly and a sustainable community.
