Laminate major Greenlam Industries Ltd (GIL) has announced that its in-house R&D team has developed a product with antivirus attributes. With the new feature, GIL will retard and kill up to 99.99% of viruses that come in contact with the surface. This has been tested and certified under Antiviral Efficacy Test as per ISO21702:2019 International Standard, by Biotech Testing Services (BTS) Mumbai, the company said.

According to Mr. Mittal, the company has been producing laminates and compacts with anti-bacterial and antifungal attributes for several years. With this new certification, Greenlam will now be able to offer laminates with triple health and hygiene features –antivirus, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. These attributes last throughout the life cycle of the entire range of Greenlam laminates. “This reinforces the ability and agility of GIL to develop innovative products in sync with the market dynamics and customers’ expectation.”
