Due to sharp jump and unavailability of raw materials for decorative laminate manufacturing there are reports coming for price increase from all sides. The key rawmaterials e.g Phenol, Formaldehyde, Melamine, Craft and Base Paper, all are witnessing a gradual spike which is why producers are passing it on and increasing the prices instatntly.
As per report, few of the laminate manufacturers have announced 6 to 8% increase with varying thickness and brands.
Manufacturers in Gujarat and North India have made up their mind to pass the cost input to market because most of the Raw Materials have noticed 12 to 20 % jump. The unavailability of raw material chain, issues related to imports and sea containers gone has severely affected dispatches as well as cost calculations. Manufacturers were hesitant to announce the price rise since 15 days but a dozen of players have announced the rise today. The clusters of laminate manufacturers in Yamuna Nagar announced the increase a week ago, followed by manufacturers in Gujrat and Morbi. The asking price increase is reportedly in tune to below mentioned range.
