Growing demand of good quality Calibrated plywood is making manufacturers to install ‘Core Veneer Composer’ to cater the demand. It has been reported that more than 12 manufacturing establishments in India has set up core veneer composer machine seeing demand of quality plywood products. Ply Reporter sources also confirm that more than dozens of plywood producers from North India have opted to set these machines, and confirmed orders to Taiwanese and Chinese suppliers. Industry sources also indicated that other 2 dozens plywood producers are evaluating the advantage of Core Composers machines for future benefit and they might place order shortly.
Experts also indicate that plywood producers are suffering technical glitches in smooth operation of Veneer Core Composer Machines in India due to non- availability of adequate quality timber and operators. However, the suppliers of these machines in India are confident of smooth functioning and saying that they have bought those machines which are suitable for India condition.
Those producers who are willing to produce high quality calibrated ply in India are importing Core Veneer Composers, 8x4 Glue Spreader from China and Taiwan to reach to that quality level. Indian Plywood producers are inquiring for 8x4 ft automatic servo Core Veneer Composers and 8x4 ft fiber destruction machine (Tenderizer) for this purpose. The Ply Reporter met various plywood producers, who are either willing to convert their manufacturing process for making calibrated plywood or already setting up the Core Veneer Composers, Sanding machines, Glue Spreader etc. Two years back, there were talks about inability of many manufacturers to deliver real ‘Calibrated Plywood’ that can be smoothly used by furniture makers and pre-hung door making sector.
