Raw Material cost shot up once again sharply that is forcing the decorative laminate manufacturers to increase prices again with immediate effect. It is 2nd rise in less than 3 months time noted in HPL segment. Prices of Phenol, Melamine and Formaldehyde are nearing 100, 150 and 20, which is far higher than average base levels.
More than 20 Gujrat based Laminate companies have announced the increase and more than 40 units have opted to curtail production of 1 shift due to rising input cost induced losses. The estimated price increase being announced is in ranges as below.
1 mm - Rs 35-40
0.8 mm - Rs 20-25
Liner - Rs 15-20
